Alessandra on the "Alessandra" in her Lance Armstrong t-shirt

On the back of the pamphlet printed for Alessandra's Memorial Service was this photograph and an excerpt from "On Death" by Kahlil Gibran, which I want to share.

"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."

Now that I'm a mother i often wonder what i need to do to raise as wonderful, sweet, loving, generous, charming children as you have done... just wanted you to know :) Maybe one day you can share your secret with me xxxx
