The ESSENCE of SILENCE

"Whose woods are these, I think I know"........ They are mine in Lincolnville after the latest salvo from above. The two humps in the middle of the picture are Dianne's Adirondack chairs. Isn't this image the essence of silence? To me, it is as if the trees were holding their breath. I can't hear any wind in the branches or the shivering chirp of a bird or the scurrying of a mouse under the snowy blanket. Such silence is pure. Perfect. Just as your "silence" is when we do not hear from you. We know what you are "saying" to us. We know what you are thinking. It need not be expressed in writing, or over the phone. Your "silence" is a powerful message to us. It says we are connected on another level or plain. Somewhere, out there, we are able to touch each other and just be still. Yes? LSC
